A realistic timeline for growing an aged account

There's no shortcut to a healthy account, but there is a rhythm — the same one our own team follows every time we raise one from scratch. Here's the timeline we teach in the weekly lessons.

Week 1 - blend in

Change the email and password, enable 2FA (see Reddit's Help Center for the setup steps), and just read. Comment a few times in the account's existing communities.

Weeks 2-4 - build cadence

Post on a human schedule, not in bursts.

  • A few comments most days.
  • One or two posts a week.
  • Stay in-lane with the account's history.

Months 2-3 - expand carefully

Branch into adjacent subreddits once you have a steady footprint. Let engagement, not volume, drive growth.

What 'done' looks like

A believable account isn't the one with the most karma - it's the one whose activity looks indistinguishable from a real long-time user, and stays well within Reddit's User Agreement. That's the bar we hold every account to before we ever list it.

How activity builds, week by week

The pace we follow ourselves on every account — reading first, then a slow climb in posting activity as trust builds.
